hello
i have a 1992 Honda civic DX. 1.5L. 4 cyl.was driving the card and heard something broke.found the crankshaft pulley off and broken.the rod where the pulley goes in is damage out and in the tread, can't secure the bolt.will need to replace the crankshaft.
i had work on this kind of Honda, but never done a crankshaft replacement.is it hard to do?i know one need to remove the oil pan,do i have to adjust anything inside the engine after replacement.or it just a remove and install back things.?.do i need any special tools?.do i need to remove the engine first?

thanks for any help
one more thing is the car does run, however because i can't install the crankshaft pulley due to the damage to the Rod previously mentioned, the alternator and power steering belt can"t be on.
"note "the part of the crankshaft that is damage is where the pulley goes in with the key and the tread of the hole for the bolt.
thanks guys for helping, sound like a big job..i do have all the tools a mechanic can need .but i can't do it with the very cold weather and having just my parking lot(sorry no garage, that will be one of my future project).the funny things is i just put a new water pump and timing belt last week.the thing is the tread for the bolt was worn off.look like previous owner did a mess.i did welded but did with a flux wire Mig welder.looked like that weld was not strong enough.

my question is. since the car still run.if i buy a crankshaft pulley, key and welded with an ARC welder, will the arc welding be strong to secure the pulley to the crankshaft.the rod and pulley are steel?.or do i need other type of welding?

thanks
