Honda Civics being stolen?

I have my G2, license and im looking for a car. I want a small one either toyota or honda, in my area there are mostly only honda civics in my range. Ive heard from to people now that they are likely to be stolen? Im looking at a 1996 one and it has an alarm. What do you think.. are they really known for being stealing should i be that worried?
 
i have never heard that :S but to prevent professional car theifs from stealing your car put etch your reg num in each window in small its a big put off to car thiefs good luck x
