92 Honda Civic VX, 137K miles, all stock
Recently replaced: radiator & hoses, starter, fuel filter, clutch assembly, distributer cap, spark plug wires. Also just had an oil change 4 days ago.
Engine starts up fine.
There has been a coolant leak for about 6 months.
Within the last 3 days, after 5 minutes of driving the engine starts to run hot and there is smoke coming from the engine. There is a clanking sound coming from the left side of the car when sitting in the drivers seat.
I just poured a little more than half gallon of coolant into the radiator and it filled up.
The clanking sound did get progressively worse over the course of three days.
Would the clanking sound be related to the coolant level lowering or could it be something else? Any of you experts have any ideas what the sound could be?
