Honda Civic Si v.s Sc 300?

I have a 2000 Civic Si coupe, with only a clutch upgrade and short shifter, and I got a friend with a 97 Sc 300, with only a 6 speed tranny swap. I was wondering could I beat his car. I know he has a 2JZGE, but can I stil beat him. We both are good driver. So?
