i have a 2008 civic si with injen CAI and hydroshield to go with it. we had a complete downpour yesterday morning and i figured with hydroshield i would be fine. got a mile away from house and car started bogging.....my prelude filter gets a lil water on it and does that no big deal but right after it lost all power felt as if someone that cant drive stick is stalling car but it was going 21 mph.....would hit 21mph and jump over and over and over very quick. drove back to house.
today i bought new oil/filter bottle of FI cleaner and bottle of seafoam. used half seafoam in possible contaminated oil ran for 5 mins drained oil changed filter added a tad of seafoam b4 adding oil and the rest after filling up. ran for 10 mins no issues on idle. checked oil level added a tad since i was about a half qt low. continued to let run while i took shower and drove to store. symptoms are gone completely. did i resolve the issue by that or is there still a possibility of hydrolock?
ps. i did add the FI cleaner to the gas tank. i didnt specify that in the main post and i know some ppl online are smartass enough to ask what i did with it. and i did this b4 i cranked car with possible contaminated oil.
