Hello all, I'm going to be buying my first OWN car in a month or two. My last car was a car my parents bought for me for $2500, a 1996 Nissan Sentra. Well, after putting at LEAST a thousand dollars into it in repairs, the engine completely croaked after just 2 and a half years of ownership. I'm looking for a much more reliable car that I can get paid off while I'm still in college, (36 month loan) that way I won't have to worry about a car payment once I graduate, since I will have student loans to worry about paying back. I want this car to be RELIABLE and last me at least 5 years....but I don't have the money to buy a NEW car right now...so it will have to be an 04-08 USED one with at the MOST 75K miles on it. I am stuck between the '06-'08 Scion tC, and the '04-'08 Honda Civic. I know Honda has a great track record with reliability and has been around for years, but I've done research on the Scion tC and it has very good ratings as well, being a product of Toyota. I also like the looks and features of the tC a little more, but I know that is not the most important thing. I know the ultimate decision is up to me....but which one would you choose? Which car is the overall better pick that will give me few problems and last me a long time? Need help!! thanks
oh yeah, and whichever car I choose will have an AUTOMATIC transmission! so I don't want to hear about pros/cons of the manual transmission of either car.
