Honda Civic Hatch Engine?

I called this junkyard and asked if they had d16z6 engine vtec because that is what mine had in it but it blew up and the guy said he has a 95 civic ex engine with a 1.6 liter v tec engine would that fit into my 95 civic hatch, would i need to upgrade transmissions? he might have said it was a dual cam too
