Hello. I have been using Castrol GTX 5w-30 for a while now. But the guy at autozone told me because I have so many miles I should use 10w 30?
the sticker under the hood says 5w-30. But Is it safe to use 10w-30?
I live in Minnesota and its starting to get cold up here and will get below 0 in the winter.
On some Honda forums everyone says 5w-20 will get you good gas mileage?
Just wondering what I should use for winter.
And does anyone know if Castrol GTX high mileage is any good? I know Pennzoil is horrible for engines.
Thanks!
Thanks for the replies!
Mine has not used any oil at all.
But yeah Pennzoil is bad because it contains Paraffin in it which is like a wax. And recently my friend did a oil change and put Pennzoil in it and the next day it the car started burning oil! He switched back to Valvoline and it stopped!
And I've had mechanics when I used to go and get oil changes done at a actual shop tell me that all these engines that have be sludge up have had Pennzoil in them.
