Honda Civic dies at idle?

I have a 1990 Honda Civic, and it sometimes dies when I slow down and put the clutch in to stop. The engine runs perfectly, not rough at all. This has been going on for a couple of months. Now this morning, I got in and the car started fine, but died 2 seconds after starting. I started it about 5 more times with the same result. I tried starting it with the gas pedal depressed, and it started. When I drove down the road I made it about 2 blocks and the engine died without my slowing down.

It dies very quickly. Not like a rough running engine that sputters and dies. It is more like the car is just shut off.

could be a nuber of things 1990 was a transition year from carborted to fuel injection if the car is carborated you may have a vaccum leak get a spray bottle with soapy water and spray the vaccum lines and look for bubbles while engine running. if fuel injected sounds like a fuel pump
