i say go for it, as long as the previous owner/owners did not abuse it if it had vtec you should be fine. that is the only problem with hondas, when it comes to a honda having vtec a lot of times the person driving it will abuse the car just because of the vtec. if you want to make sure take it to a reputable and HONEST mechanic and get his opinion. if he says its good then get it. down the road you can learn about the car and fix a lot of the problems yourself. if you plan on that then invest in a haynes manual, very much worth spending the 20-30 dollars on the book.

The year and model does not matter, what matter is the condition of the car, and if you like that car. Try driving it, feel it, then ask yourself, is it responding well when you step the gas? Does it stop without problem, like swaying to your left or right? Is the car ok when you hit pot holes? These are things to consider when buying....
