Honda CBR 600cc or Suzuki GSXR 600cc?

My friend and i are getting bikes, he wants a 1000cc bike i want a 600cc bike i already started on a 250cc. hes never ridden a bike before and i keep telling him he dosent understand the power of a bike and hes stuck on the 1000cc. what do i do
