Hi

I am a 20 Years old collage student, I drive my car all the time but I have never driven a motor bike before in my life, so I decided I want to buy my self a bike and decided I want a sports type and Honda CBR-600 2009 is what I think I want for experienced drivers out there do you think its a good idea to go for this bike as my first bike or should I go with something else
People told me these sport bikes are dangerous and all and for a new driver they told me to stay away from them, any advice I should consider
I have a corvette C6 and I am used to power and speed so is that helpful with a bike (also I never driven a manual car )
If you believe the bike is too much please recommend me an easy to ride bike, it has to look cool though

thanks in advance

Driving a manual car helps to understand how gears and clutches work.

And motorcycles are MUCH more dangerous than cars (something like 20 time more dangerous). That's because in a car, emergency stop could be just a scare. In a motorcycle emergency stops (especially for beginners) almost always means a wipe out - and bodily harm.

Being used to speed is not the problem. The problems is that you have GAIN experience as car drivers often don't see motorcycles and motorcycle riders need to anticipate.

Also 600 cc class is a BIG bike for beginner. In many countries 500 is the biggest bike you can even buy. !!!

I've owned 3 bikes so far, so I'm not saying you shouldn't ride. I'm just saying don't rush in. Many of my friends who rushed in crashed and just gave it up within months of starting.

Good Luck...
