I have a 2000 Honda CBR F4 (carbureted) motorcycle with an intermittent stalling problem that I believe is related to lack of fuel delivery to the engine.
With fuel tank 3/4 full, I traveled approx. 2km when bike started to stutter as if out of fuel. Bike stalled and I tried to restart without any luck and walked the bike home. Later in the day I unplugged the wiring to the fuel pump and boosted the pump for 2 seconds then started the bike up and it ran perfect. I traveled approx. 60km without issue. Problem returned again on a morning ride but this time I came prepared with small wire connection cables and an insert clip for the fuel pump plug. Once I forced power to the fuel pump for a quick couple of seconds the bike starts and runs fine. Then one more time the bike stalled out exactly like running of gas on my way home (15km ride). Again boosted the fuel pump and away I go.
Can anyone tell me what may be wrong with my motorcycle?
It could be a faulty fuel pump, fuel relay or ???
What can I do to trouble shoot this?
Thanks for your help.
