Honda CB550 owners, what is your RPM at 50mph?

Hey everyone,
Just had my first post-restore ride on my 1975 Honda CB550, and it seemed to me like my RPM was too high for the speed I was going. In 5th gear, at 50mph, I was at 4000rpm. Is this too high? I'm really not familiar enough with motorcycles yet to know.
Also, when I fill up I'm going to do a mpg calculation, so if anyone knows about what my mpg should be... (no guesses please..they will just confuse me!!)

it is your chain and sprocket set, you've got a lower geared ratio than it should be.
This will mean increased accelleration but reduced top end and fuel ecconomy.
if you can live with it for a bit then change when worn out.
or
look for alternative on ebay..
