Hello peoples,
I just bought a 1975 Honda CB550 that's been sitting for about 23 years. The old air filter that's in it has a paper element, and the new filter that the Honda supplier gave me is the same shape and size but the element is foam instead of paper. I'm told I might need to submerge it in oil before I use it (!?) although I've never used one like it before.
I'm wondering if this filter will work. It fits and is the same size; just has a different type element, and I'm afraid it might be for a different year bike where perhaps they added some other form of filtration that my bike doesn't have.
