Ok Guys Im a student who is about to buy a 97 Honda Accord LX, this person Im buying from is a friedn of mine for years and years so Im sure she is not lying to me but I thought I would get some outside feedback cause she isnt very mechincally savvy. it has 162,000 miles on it which i dont believe for accords is a ton but none the less its been around the yard a few times, Im only buying it for $1,000 probably a good deal I would say to me?. It is very much a solid car in fact I dont know why shes sellin it in the first place cause its still a great car, runs great and has never been in an accident, fantastic for gas mileage and in the snow here in colorado.
Its a 5 speed Manual and she is very good at takin care of the clutch by not riding and jumping and stuff.
Im just wondering if theres any personal storys on failures or anything that might be something I could watch out for, the only other car ive ever owned was a 68 Barracuda so im not familiar with these and I am Mechinic savvy but like I said just a bit of feedback from others would be nice.
Anyone know a ball park on gas mileage?? I believe its 22-25 mpg??
Ive heard that the timing belt sometimes becomes an issue on the accords, anyone with problems theres?
How bout Clutch stuff?? obviously dont ride it and stuff but is there anything that I might wanna watch out for while Im at it with that?? anything I can do to get it to last longer??
Also what the difference between a LX and a regular I guess??? is there a difference?
