2008 Civic - Great car. The DX/LX/EX get great gas mileage. LX & EX are really comfortable to drive around in and OK back seat room, Coupe looks the best if you ask me. Sedan is nice too, but personally i don't like the rear end of it. The Si is great, very nice performance and i love the interior too, sedan and coupe. (especially coupe!)
2008 Accord - Coupe is very sporty. EX-L V6 is the best one, looks great, leather interior and very good performance. The V6 is fast! The 4cyl is pretty good too. I don't really like the 08 accord sedan too much, looks good in black though, Somethings missing for me.... but it drives very nicely.
Between the two i would lower it down to Civic EX/Si and Accord Coupe 4cyl/V6. I'd go with the Accord Coupe EX-L V6 if i had the extra cash, otherwise the Civic LX/EX is really good on gas mileage and comfortable to drive, performance isn't bad either.
