Gas price is heading toward the heavens now, so I need a little help from the God of Gas out there. The ten year four banger used get 30 mpg(city/hwy), but now it gets less than 20 mpg. I had the catalytic converter swapped out with an after market one because of engine check light and also had the two half axles replaced with refurbished half shafts because of a bad CV boot. These were the major repairs done to the car before the mpg went down hill. I dont' know if there is a relationship there or it's something else.
Could the cheap parts I put into the car be part of the problem, if yes, how? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
