I have owned my 2001 y reg honda accord 1.8vtec for almost 3 months and last night I noticed my alternator warning light flashed twice and then never did it again. I got home ok then today I have gone out and set off to work which is 15 miles away just as I arrived my instrumental panel lost power the fuel gauge, temp gauge, rev counter ETC. abs light came on and srs light. and the car lost power and stalled.
I tried to start and it wouldn't turn over, I left the car for 3 hours returned to it and it started, I then left it for 4 hours and it started I left for home.
After 3 miles the car lost all the Electrics again and lost power. It started again on a push start only to cut out around 100 meters down the road.
Anyone have any ideas what the problem maybe?? when it was jump started the alternator belt did go round on the pulley as usual.
