Honda Accord 92 Brake Issue?

I am not a car expert by an stretch of the imagination, but i try to do the regular maintenance on my 92 Honda Accord.

So yesterday was the day to work on the car, and here is what I did:
1. I changed the oil and oil filter. I used the same kind i used last time, did the same things that I did last time
2. I put in fuel injector cleaner like i did last time. I usually put this in when I do oil changes now. It seems to help. The gas tank is between 3/4 and 1/2.
3. I rotated the tires parallel. This is the first time i have personally rotated the tires by myself for this car.

I got in my car to go this morning and this is what i noticed before I left my neighborhood:
1. it was running very sluggish (like it wasn't in 1st or something weird)
2. I noticed a weird smell... something burning, but it did not smell like oil
3. The little D4 (light to show you where your shifter is) started to fade out and then it went out all together. D3, 2, and 1 lights all still work.
4. Since I could feel something was wrong I decided to go back to the house because I was guessing I wouldn't be able to drive home.
5. When I got to my driveway, the car wasn't able to make it up the incline into the garage
6. When I put it into park on the driveway, I wasn't able to shift out of park. The button wouldn't push in. Usually the button goes in when you push down the brake pedal. I had to manually put my key in the slot to take the shifter out of park.
7. I checked the oil again and it was a little low and I put in another quart
8. The car starts up fine, and i can rev the engine up past 3000 rpm
9. I turned the car on again from neutral and put it into D4 (still no light) the car didn't move at all. Did I somehow mess up the brakes or something? It is like the "Park Brakes" are still on (not the e-brake).

What did I do wrong? Since this was the first time I rotated the tires, I'm guessing that is the problem? but since i am not able to shift out of park (the car won't let me) would it be something else?
