Please, a colleague of mine's Honda Accord 1993 model, is giving him some problems:
1.The Car jerks after selecting the gear to D (auto transmission).
2. The engine stalls or turns off while the car is stationary or idling.
3. When the gear is in "Park" or "Neutral", the engine does not accelerate upto 4000rpm.
His mechanic suggested ECU replacement which I personally doubted would be the cause & thats why am seeking for help here for him. Please, does anyone have idea of what might be the cause?
The car would not rev upto 4000rpm when the gear is in Neutral or Park position. The check light on the instrument cluster also blinks.
