i have an 04 400ex. it was running fine until i had a party at my house. everybody was riding it and it was going fine. then after wards, i stoped the machine and couldn't get it started again. i towed it home and jumped it. i just got a new battery so i knew it couldn't have been dead. then after i jump started it, it was running fine. then a week later i went to go start it and it just kept rolling over. i had to jump it again. now, whenever i want to ride it i have to jump it. do u know what could be the problem. the neutral light doesn't work either and the thing cant hold a charge. its not the battery.

''AND WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED?''
...yes,dont let fools ride on your bike.
check for a unpluged wire connector, look from the generator side...one of your mates have unpluged something..also check the reg/rec plug as its not charging the battery

sounds like either it isn't charging or you have a short.
Charge the battery up full and leave it off the quad, then a week later drop it in. Does the quad start right away
if not battery isn't holding a charge.

If So, don't run the quad, leave it sit again for a week (Or so)
try to start it.
It starts..then quads charging system is not keeping battery charged.'If Not then you have a small short draining the battery.

pretty easy.

if your neutral light isnt working than its a fuse. i had same probem with my 02 400ex. take off back plastic. look to the left(if the battery is in front of you) there is a white/clear looking cap. pull that off and there should be two fuses(1 is a spare) check to see if they are good or not. if you need any more help let me know.

yes its a blown fuse under the plastic th runs from your battery to your magneto also to your neutral panel
