Honda 400ex Starting Problem?

My starter works, I have a brand new one-way bearing installed, but I really believe the starter is spinning in the wrong direction? The starter spins counter clockwise which would make the motor turn in the opposite direction that it would run? The cables have not been changed, even the dealership is unsure?? Polarity of the starter? What?? Please help.
This is also my first question on-line so i don't know how this will work.
