However, overheating is a condition that might not be the case. Engines must run hot. If water boils when you put it on the engine, then it definitely is running too hot. Continued use at high temperatures will result in the oil breaking down and metal warping. It may also lead to damage to the piston as these operate at very high temperatures and there is not much margin.

Check the timing. This is a common cause of engine overheating. If overheating continues, try returning the engine to normal specifications.

hello my honda 400ex engine is to hot to touch is it over heating or just normal its modified like choke removed yfz shock air box lid removed fmf exhaust uni filter advanced timing but i bought it this way going very well just wondering is it overheating i run 10w40 oil the engine gets to hot to touch after 20Min's of riding any help appreciated
