...ecu it doesnt flash codes.? Hello all we had a pretty nice rainfall yesterday and some if it ended up in my passengers side front seat. I have a leak in the car which i have had for a good while now but never had this problem of the car not starting after rain collects in front seat.

I tried to crank the car this morning and the check engine light popped on.
so i cleaned up the water by the ecu and it cranks really weak then picks up. turned it off and turned it on again instantly starts. but now the check engine light wont go off.
So i went ahead and hooked up my custom OBD 1 Substitue into the ecu reader and when i turn the key to check the code it stays bright not giving me codes for what the problem might be.
My question is is it possible that My ECU is no good at this moment? and is this the reason it wont give me codes?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as i need my car soon and im to afraid to drive it unless i know what the problem is.
The custom OBD wire substitue is a wire with two copper prongs. I stick that into the kick boxes blue connector to read the ecu and it stay steady doesnt flash at all nor does it clear
Thnx Disconnecting the negative cable on the battery was good enough it cleared the check engine light. after cranking and giving the car gas light still didnt pop on.
