Clutch plates - no metal against metal.

When in doubt of the piston direction of a 2 stroke engine - make sure the piston ring ends are not in line with a cylinder port.
 
I am in the final stages of my restoration project for my pride and joy, all i have left to do is install the clutch, and new piston, i am a little stuck!, can anyone tell me which part of the piston faces the exhaust port, there is no arrow, all i have is IN on one side, and 1.00 on the other, and also in which order do i install the clutch does the friction plate go first, or is it the pressure plate, i will be greatfull to anyone who can help me.
