okay so i was just getting a little confused. if you have synthesis reaction of sodium (Na) and Iodine (I2) it goes like this::
Na + I2 --> NaI2
right?
or does it go like this:
Na + I2 --> 2NaI
I am just confused on the HONClBrIF part of it all and if you like.. carry the 2 over directly with the I cause it's a honclbrif thing or if you drop the 2 and then balance the equation in the reaction..
and the is it the same for another one like this?
2Mg + Cl2 --> 2MgCl
or is it
Mg + Cl2 --> MgCl2
