in world history we're talking about city-states in mesopotamia. the question is: Explain how the building of a pyramid, or ziggurat would show each of the features of civilization. (A ziggurat is a massive stepped tower). And in my book, it says that a temple was dedicated to the chief god or goddess of the city, and this temple was often built atop a ziggurat. the sumerians believed that gods and goddesses owned the cities. so i'm very confused on how to answer this:
