homemade sex toys???

i've been looking at questions on yahoo answers about how to make homemade sex toys and a lot of them have been saying use bananas vibrating tooth brushes,or cucumbers. And some have been saying don't use them because they could give you infections. Could they still give you infections if you wrap them with plastic wrap or a condom or something? And if you have any ideas other than these things for sex toys what are they? Oh and i forgot to mention i'm a girl. thanks for answering
