I have been home from the hospital for Three days, and Six days out from the Second Surgery. The First Surgery was on May 14th. I had to stay in the Hospital for Three days to ensure that there were no problems from the Surgery, and also to have the adhesive glue set in spine. Since the fact I had to lay flat on my back.
To remind you all what was going on:
Every time I sat up or stood up I would get severe headaches, get sick, and just could not function normally. I had Two Blood Patches, that failed (this was done within a week of each other). Then we did a Cat Scan of the Brain was Normal, and then a Cat Scan of the Lower Spine. That's when the shit hit the fan. When Dr Roseenblum saw the results from that he called me in from the car since I had my Husband bring them to him. When he told and showed me about the leak and I saw the fluid build up I was not a happy camper. So he told me that we were going to do Surgery on Friday and that I would be in for Three days minimum.
So now here it is Thursday and I am laying in bed, back at square one from the first surgery. Thats okay I rather be this way then with a Headache everytime I sit or stand. My first visit back to the Doctors is Monday to have the staples removed. I am hoping that he gives me permission to get uo and move about more than what I have been because really in the past month I have only been out of the house not counting the Doctors or Hospital is Two times. I will keep you updated

Wow!! You poor thing. I pray that you are finally on the mend and you can put this behind you completely and begin recovering and reclaiming your life back. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Sorry to hear about everything you have gone through and hope that you are now on your way to mending. Take care of yourself and don't overdo and maybe the doctor will give you some great news when you see him next week. :)No-wait--not maybe but yes the doctor will give you great news.

I had spinal leakage this year and i know how severe is the headache can be. I feel for you! I just don't know why did it take them for so long to diagnose you? When I called Neurologist in NYC and explained my symptoms over the phone - he immideately diagnosed me with a leakage and put in bed for 48 hours.
How do you feel now? What exactly did they do for this?

Best of luck on your recovery:angel:

They were not too sure as to what was causing the pain at first because it was 3 weeks after the itial surgery so they didnt think it was from that, but hey did do 2 blood patches which failed both times. I was alreadly laying down from my initial surgery with limited movement. Then when the headaches came on if I stood uo or sat up it worssened so I just layed in bed. In between the blood patches the cat scan and then the recent surgery. Which by the way I am feeling much better. Just my back is itching like crazy. It doesnt help that I have developed a tape allergy also. I go see the Dr today to get the staples removed I hope. I want to take a shower. Havent taken one in quite a long time. Hopefully good luck today

I went to the doctors on Monday, he said everything looked good. I had 26 staples in this time. I asked him how much fluid he had drained from my back and he had replied had hadn't rely measured but if he had to guess it would have been about a cups worth. To me that is a Hell of a lot of fluid and that would explain my Headaches I was having. I have the same restrictions as when I came out the first time. Take it easy, 30 minutes sitting, plenty walking, no driving, no sex for 4 weeks. Ugh he is killing me slowly. I am patiently waiting though. I am happy to report that I feel much better but I am just getting bored around the house and the doing the same things for the past month now. I know this too will soon pass, but from going to laying around to now being able to sort of move its something.
