I saw this movie yesterday and I loved it! Great acting by everyone involved. It was a great movie and I highly recommend it.

I just this bit of news from the Venice Film Festival.

Affleck won best actor for his role in Allen Coulter’s “Hollywoodland,” which dramatizes an investigation into the death of George Reeves, star of the 1950s TV show “Adventures of Superman.”

I thought it was worthwhile.

Affleck displays some acting chops and gives his best in a long time despite this being a supporting role (which IMO is what fits Ben well) and actually found his plot more entertaining than Brody's.

Hmm Ben Affleck as George Reeves? Thats not too bad of a pick to play Reeves. It sounds interesting.

Yeah, I saw an ad for it the other day, too, and it reminded me of L.A. Confidential. I know people LOVED that film, and I liked it, but I thought it was predictable. Wonder how they'll handle a true-crime scenario...

And thanks for the thread! :)

Yeah.

Looks like an interesting movie. :D

Has anyone seen the previews of this movie? It's about the life and mysterious death of actor George Reeves. He played Superman in the 1950s on the tv show.
When Reeves first died, it was ruled a suicided. However, there was a theory that he may have been murder by the mob. The movie stars Adrien Brody, Diane Lane, Bob Hoskins, and Ben Affleck as George Reeves. Adrien Brody plays the detective investigating Reeves' death. The film looks good to me and I think it might be Affleck's comeback movie. It comes to theaters on September 8th. Has anyone ever heard of the Superman curse?
