At our barn we do a yearly horse camp around Christmas. This year we're really trying to come up with some new things to do, since the kids that come to this camp come every year, so we want to do something different. Normally we will have them clean some of the stalls, feed the horses, do a couple of barn chores, then have them pick the horse they want to use, groom up the horse, and do a showmanship competition. Generally speaking we're unable to use our riding arena because of weather, and we need to keep the activities versatile so that kids ranging from 5 - 12 years old can participate and have fun. So, I want to know what ideas you guys might have for us. We were thinking about doing a decorate your horse competition and the showmanship competition again, anything else you guys can think of? There are other things we do inside, but we need ideas of things that the kids can do in the barn with the horses.
