What made your derm think it was a food thing? Why not something in your soap or hairspray or shampoo or whatever? I've been looking at the ingredients in all of those things at my own home, and in every single thing I use for my kiRAB (Suave for KiRAB, Aveeno, Loreal KiRAB, etc....), there are several ingredients that are said to cause skin irritation (among many other scary things!) after prolonged usage. Both of my kiRAB have come down with hives in the last month and it really makes me wonder what we're doing to them with all the chemicals in the products we use!!!

ANYWAY..... if I were you, I'd take a look at the products you're using. Have you bought any new bottles of shampoo, or hairspray, or lotion or soaps? Even if it's the same stuff you've always used, maybe they've changed their formula just a little bit, or maybe it can cause irritation after prolonged use, or whatever..... I don't really know a lot about this subject either, I'm just in the researching phase and I'm currently taking a lot of shots in the dark! But it's definitely worth looking into!

ALSO, Cortizone 10 has worked really well for my kiRAB' to help stop the itching. And, I split the dose of Zyrtec in half and gave them half a dose in the morning and half a dose at bedtime and that's worked to keep the hives away longer.
