Hive Five Winner for Best Image Editor: Adobe Photoshop [Hive Five Followup]

Last week we posed the question, "Which image editor is best?" and now we're back to share the results. No major surprises here: Photoshop pulled in a majority vote. Hate for the high price aside, there isn't much criticism to lob at Photoshop. In the last 20 years it's grown from a primitive image editor to the premiere editing application.
Not all the accolades go to commercial software and leave the less-flush-with-cash out in the cold, though. Second place goes to GIMP, the robust open-source image editor. GIMP is the most sophisticated free image editor around, and definitely earned its place in the list. Rounding out the top three is Paint.net, another free image editor with a surprisingly impressive feature set and a light footprint.
