Hitman

Ok i just saw this film, and have to say its one of the best game turned movie ive seen.. but im a little confused and wondered if anyone could help me.

I understand his mission was to kill that guy in the start, but apparently it was a double, and it was to frame 47. Now i dont understand why other agents were trying to kill him, dont they all work for the agency? Unless that guy was paying the agency to kill off 47, but then why did the chick who voiced his laptop (diana?) call him to help him, and that other guy who helped 47 escape in the end help him if they were part of the agency.

It probably would help if i played all the games maybe, but ive only played 'Blood Money' on the 360.

If anyone could explain this, it would make the film even more enjoyable for me and ill watch it again lol

I've never palyed the games but I enjoyed the film.

My take on this was that the agents were all treated like machines not people - trained to kill and not to question what they were told to do. However 47 did question what he was told to do when he realised that things didn't quite add up so he was a threat to all the others. They might also begin questioning their orders.

Perhaps this is exactly what happened when he was helped by the voice on his laptop and the other guy who helped him? They too realised that what they were doing wasn't right and decided to something about it - but without rocking the boat too much and endangering their own positions.

They wanted that guy dead regardless, so his double could take over. They also had to eliminate the hitman because he knew what had really happened - whoever did the job would have been for the chop. (Likewise they had to kill the guy's girlfriend as she'd spot the substitution.) The agency may have assigned 47 as their most dispensable agent, or it might have been luck - I don't recall.

Why the chip called 47 to help is not explained. I think it's an interesting question and a possible hook for a sequel. She obviously wasn't supposed to and must have been risking her life to do it. She seemed able to negotiate with 47 earlier, so she wasn't just a dumb messenger. She probably had enough contact with other agents to put together what has happening, and disagreed with it personally. She could be a really interesting character.

I heard the full was cut to bits by a new director or something, and im starting to think maybe the film would have explained itself more if it was all still 'intact'. I hope they bring out a Directors Cut which have these deleted scenes as i still think the film is good.. just quite difficult to understand as it focused more on action.

Also quite gutted he only used the wire once, as this is his main stealth weapon in the games, and never realy uses guns unless he has to.

The guy he killed at the beginning was the original Bellikov, It was the double who was behind the whole killing 47 thing, he was trying to mop up loose enRAB and witnesses.

Saw this lastnite and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was, when I 1st heard about it I thought not another computer game made into a movie.

Now I gotta say that it is 1 of the best films I have seen in a longtime. I think 1 of the reasons it was so good was cos Uwe Boll never got his mits on it .

I will buy the dvd when it comesout, no doubt about it

On a side note, i'm not sure if it has been posted already but the gorgeous girl in this film is also the new bond girl :D.

Watched it last night and i have to admit after hearing some bad reviews of it...i was completely surprised at how good it was. Although my only niggle with it was the story was a bit choppy...some parts werent explained very well.

But for a game turned to a movie i have to admit its one of the best ive seen..much better than the dire Doom movie...that was quite frankly a pile of crap:p. Timothy Olyphant is a good actor, did well in Die Hard 4 so was kinda strange seeing him with a bald head but i think it suits him. Plus the Nika bird was flipping hot...gorgeous albeit for that silly tattoo on her face...
