Do people normally pickup hitchhikers? Is it dangerous? I'm a girl traveling alone and I'm looking for a ride from Den Haag to Antwerp. Is it a popular route? You think I'm gonna get a ride? I just want to experience it

I thought it was common (from what I read from wikitravel). I have hitchhiked before with my friend in other place and I just think that it might be fun to try here. Apparently, from your answer, it's not that common here, so don't worry, I guess I'll just have to book the train ticket. Thank everyone for the answer!!!
