History - World War 1?

I'm not sure where your from but i'll tell you about world war 1 for england.
Recruitment was voluntary to begin with, but a lot of people joined up. It was seen as patriotic to die for ones country and seen as honorable. If you look at ww1 poets such as Laurence Binyon this is obvious, and Propaganda posters encouraged young men to join making it seem a valiant service.
But when the war continued and the staggering death toll rose men had to join. After battles such as the somme the death tolls were devastating.

I looked up the poster and this seems to encourage the hatred of the Germans (who are the huns). They make it seem as though the sailors capture and charging was wrong (though it may have been) they live it up. It probably made a lot of people angry and they would have been more eager to join up.

ww1 recruitment.
when did figures rise/fall
