Greece, because Greek civilization preceeded Roman, and many Greek ideas were copied, or adopted wholesale by the Romans. The Greeks in turn received many of their ideas from the Egyptians. If you read Herodotus, the Greek historian, he travels to Egypt and references the Egyptians in his commentary.
