b. The raid deepened the division between the North and South
c. The raid caused the decline of the Whig Party
d. The federal government agreed to let state governments decide all slavery issues

help?

b. The raid and especially the ability of the 22 man group of conspirators to take and hold a federal armory convinced the South that the government would support any movement to end slavery. Even though Brown and three of his co-conspirators wee eventually tried and hanged, the division between North and South was defined by this raid. The North sanctified Brown as a martyr for the abolitionist movement and the South demonized him as a terrorist.
