Do you think the government and private citizens could have done more to curb the corruption and power of the railroads? why?

i need other pplz opinions

please and thank you =)

Private citizens no but, government yes. Many people were receiving kick backs for allowing the expansion of railroads. It took big money to finance a railroad and with that comes greed and corruption. Railroads were a necessary part in the settlement of the United States but many got rich and others were swindled out of property.
