How do you explain the departure of the Dutch and the declaration of Independence for Indonesia in 1949? To what extent was this a simple process or was it inevitable after 400 years of constant struggle against a number of foreign Empires who claimed at the time to have your best interests at heart? Now that you are safe from the arrest in your new Republic, tell me why you changed from being a communist to supporting Sukarno?
