I'm a big fan of History Channel (SD - 522), but occasionally there is an odd glitch that occures... just wondering if anyone else has noticed this:
On serveral different shows, occasionally there is a vertical line that appears near the right third of the screen. It is somewhat difficult to notice but it is there on certain camera shots. It appears like pixelation but only about 2 pixels wide and is only part height of the screen but it can be seen when the scene pans side to side.
At first I thought this was probably just a bad image sensor on a camera during production but I've notice it on serveral shows (Ice Pilots, Cities of the Underworld, Ice Road Truckers.)
I'm running a 9291 on a Sharp LCD.
Anyone else notice this?

I get the same thing on my 9242, maybe the channel is not broadcasting properly from the satellite. Hopefully Bell gets their act together and adds History HD soon.

I watch (record) a lot of things on History and have never noticed the artifacts that you describe. I'm using a 9242 with a Sony 52" TV. Maybe I just haven't been looking close enough.

But add me to the list of people waiting for History HD!

Thanks DrewSat!
Since other people have seen it, I can eliminate that it's my display, HDMI cable and receiver.
It's not critical, just at times distracting and odd that it's only on History SD.

I have noticed the pixelization as well, but assumed it was an artifact brought about by the fact that the camera's were mounted outside in -40c weather.

you can also +1 me on the HistoryHD

anyone know if and when ?

I called and asked about History HD. The CSR had no idea when or if...maybe if more people were to call and ask....

i watch lots of nostradamus effect episode and nothing on my 9241. everything is perfect. but it is rare that i watch that channel so maybe i didn't pay attention. So tonight it plays at 7 pm, and i look if it does it.
