History Assignment, Need help choosing an event?

hokay, well you not wanting bloody does limit me, and remember intersting is a relative term; I myself could talk for hours on end about James K. Polk (but that also falls into the Mexican American war and the Texas revolution).

You didn't specify if it was a regional history (American, Middle Eastern, etc...) or World history (you may want to specify that)

might I suggest The establishing of Vichi France during world war ii (not bloody, and was done with the hopes of lessening blood shed).

you could also do something on the moon landing (human achievement right there)

I honestly don't have much else to tell ya, history is usually defined by "gory events." piece is usually accompanied with social turmoil or just standard economic and technological development.
 
I need help choosing a topic in event in history or a person where I can get an event off from. I have to present this in my class (talk about for a good 5 to 6 minutes) so I'd like for it to be an interesting topic...

I've tried researching online, and so far all I've come up with where the typical boring topics we've all learned in middle or high school or the gory events in history that are... While interesting, is something I would feel uncomfortable talking about in front of my class lol.
