I am looking for the title and author of a book I read a couple of years back. It is a historical romance set in the US around the 1800s (Western). A girl marries a man who promises to take care of her poor family. She agrees to the marriage and later finds out that the man is mean and abusive. He really wants a son to take over the ranch, however, he is unable to Consummate the marriage and get his wife pregnant. So, he tells her to sleep with the foreman of his ranch so she can get pregnant. while this is going on they fall for each other. By the end of the book the husband has died I believe and she ends up happily with the foreman. I think his name may have been colt or star. Also believe the tile of the the book is Star.
