Hip Problem from bicycling?

I have a hard tail Kona I modified with 32/16 single speed gearing?

I ride on the road a good bit, spinning high rpms with zero to high pressure on the pedals.

My hips sockets, the part directly under my lower glutes are getting messed up from spinning hard and fast.

I move my seat around, which is a larger seat, not a sleek light weight one, and cant avoid the wear deep in the bottom part of my hip sockets.

Has anyone ever heard of this, or experienced this?

I can only seem to avoid it by not pedaling as hard?

I sincerely doubt that your hip problem is from cycling.

I was born with a dislocated left hip, and riding a bike was the only "sport" activity the doctors would permit me to do until I was 16. By that time it was the only thing I wanted to do. I have ridden over 100,000 miles since 14 (when I began keeping tract of my milage) and I have no hip, back or knee problems. Unlike my brothers who played football.

I would imagine you have a problem which is being exacerbated by riding, not caused by it. You should get a cycle shop to set up your bike correctly to make sure it fits, but see a doctor first.
Also, people think a large seat is a good thing. All squooshy and soft. It may be part of the problem. Serious roadies use smaller firmer seats. This seems like it would be the wrong thing to do, but in fact long term it is better on your bum.
