Hip and top leg pain...

I had a spinal fusion done 3 weeks ago....L5 S1...crushed nerve...I was in pain 247 for 10 months prior to surgery...I woke up from surgery with no pain in butt or back of leg...YEAH!!!!!!...I am now having hip pain and top of leg when i walk...is this normal?
 
Countrymama, I also had a fusion, 2 level, almost 3 weeks ago. I also have occasional hip pain and front of leg pain, and I was told not to be concerned as long as it wasn't constant. It might be constant one day, but it's gone the next. Never forget we had major surgery, there are lots of things currently swollen that weren't swollen before, things shoved around, nerves moved, etc. It takes time for our bodies to settle back down.
