Hill Bikes- Bikes for going up big hills!?

I need to know a good light weight bike for going up good hills. I live on top of some very big hills and would like to know of a good bike for getting up them. I'm not a very good biking and my current bike weighs a massive amount. I know i'll probably need an aluminium frame with 21+ gears. I am a boy so, no ladies bikes please. I also would like to know what type of bike it is like road, etc. so i know what category of bikes I should be looking at.
