I'm going to Honolulu in mid January and I want to go on a 2 or 3 days hiking in the island. I'm thinking Oahu. Are there any long trails that I can set up a small camp while hiking for 2-3 days?
Most of the hikes on Oahu are day hikes. There are many trails on Oahu, but none of them are really all that long. I suppose it would be possible to find a place somewhere in the Koolau mountains where you could camp, but it would not be legal. You would need to pack in water, as there are not any sources of potable water. The other thing to consider is that January is our rainy season & the mountains is where the most of the rain happens.
