A man decides to do some hiking in a Sunday morning. In the morning, his displacement is (2000m, east) + (3000m, north) + (200m, vertical). After lunch, his displacement is (1500m, west) + (2000m, north) - (300m, vertical).
What is the magnitude of the net displacement for the day?
Am I suppose to include the vertical distant when I calculate the displacement?
