One of my knees is permanently injured, which causes my ankle and foot to swell most of the time. Usually, the bad leg's foot and ankle are just a little swollen, but on bad days, can get so swollen that the bottom of my foot rocks like a wooden horse toy. On those days, I can only wear adjustable clogs, letting out the straps on the bad side as far as possible.
Are there any hiking boots, or shoes, that can accommodate this kind of swelling? Of course I'm not planning on doing any major hikes, but would enjoy being able to do 1-3 hour hikes on good days. I'm planning on bringing my cane for extra support.
